Christmas with the Miera's

We didn't know when we would have the time to get together with Lexi and Seth to give them our gifts...so we took a ride on Sunday and went up to visit them...

Dawn and Lexi were home and we were waiting for Mike to get back from Park City with Belle and Seth...Oh yeah...I forgot Millie too... Rusty was very disappointed when she romped into the house... hehe

We started out watching Belle open her present...

A Dora DVD to watch, over and over and over again...

Then Seth got his turn... I gave him a tip a few weeks ago...I said he could shoot it...it drove him crazy...

A Video Camera with 2 batteries...in a nice carrying case... I might have to share a tripod with him so he can shoot himself skating...the skateboard guru...

Alexis got her turn next... it was a very small envelope...wrapped in cute red paper...with a lovely bow on top...

It was $50 to get her hair done during Christmas break from school...

Dawn opened up an album, with a photo of the 3 kids on the front...with receipes inside...easy food to make, some crockpot, some freezer prep...to help her out with the new job...

Mike was the best... he was very impressed... ok... I'm pushing it here...We got the family some matching dishes...pure white to match what they already have... one can never have to many dishes around the house.

We didn't stay long...just a short time and then we were off... we wanted to miss the storm and get home before dark...I was driving and that is safe for all...to get me off the road at night.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

La Familia Bugarin

Ok so my Spanish sucks!!!
We met at Susie's house for dinner... Her parents, Robert and Gui flew in Monday from Greeley, CO... for Christmas. We had the best fajitas on the planet...made by Roberto...Yum Yum...
We took Pumpkin Crisp and Root Beer...

Of course I ate to much...and ended up stuffed like a piggy... in piggy heaven :)

Susie and Joel have the cutest condo...up on the east side...on the way to the zoo. A nice 2 bedroom she is painting...fun colors... They had their stockings hung by the chimney with care...oops I didn't get a picture of that... Oh Man!!!

Grandkids and Messes...

That sounds like a song title!!!

I've been over at Holly's alot lately...we are working together to get our goody plates together...and instead we just have made lovely messes...

We have cookie dough to cut out and bake...hum... well, maybe later today...

But on the good side of messes comes the kids.... Ady and Matthew are the queens and kings of messes right now.... You clean up one and they are already on the next one or two...

I said to myself...haven't I already done this with kids... Like my own... years ago...ugh... then one of them comes up to you and needs a hug and kiss... and I melt...again.

I couldn't melt with my kids, someone had to keep it all together and Dad was a marshmellow...so, I got to be the hard core Momma... as a gramma I get to be a bit more of a marshmellow...

Candy and Goodies

Ok

Here it is the 2nd week of December and I still haven't gotten any fudge or caramels made yet.

I finally got some dipping done, but with 5 kids in the house making me crazy... Then they ate them all and I didn't get to put any away for my "Neighbor Plates"...

We got a few inches of snow yesterday, then it melted and frozed and snowed again...So this morn... Mike got the snowblower out and chopped up the snow and ice and moved it off of the driveway... Now it's cleaner, and the ice melt is working.

Guess Holly and I will get together and make the goodies...with her 4 kids and me having little engery...It will take the 2 of us to get a few things done and wrapped...

I will try for a pix to update this post...tomorrow...my new mantra...TOMORROW !!!

Would that be procrastination??? or just building up my momentum???

Hum??? Guess I'd better look and see what Webster has to say about it...

Ok a little update on the candy... I made caramels on Monday, Dec. 15...and whoosh they were all gone before I got any wrapped and into neighbor goody plates... Oh man!!!

Christmas 2008

Mike and Mark got the tree lights put together...the lights work Yay...

We have all the totes in getting warm...ok...that was 3 days ago...they must be warm by now.

I have one nativity set up (I have 2 large totes full)...

And I have run out of energy (again)...

Today I am melting chocolate, white and double chocolate, to drizzle over popcorn. The sweet and salty is wonderful and a little bit goes a long way. I bought pretzels, rods, little sticks and small pretzel shaped, to dip and drizzle... Will post a pix when done... I love to use the green mint chips and just add color to some white to make them look pretty... I usually make goodies to hand out to neighbors and VT sisters...to go along with the cookies that turn out...unlicked.

I have the mixer to make the sugar cookie dough for Gramma's Annual Bake... next Saturday... (am I crazy or what to think I can do this and not lose my mind with the mess).

These are my plans for the next few weeks... plus a VT Sister activity...and a dinner with my daughter and her family...Bennett's mom...LOL

Oh ya...Mark wants to send out a few cards...he got one from his girlfriend, Ernie in Burley and now needs to return the card...it's his thing and he really doesn't ask for much.

Well, I will try to keep things updated...maybe hehe

Bennett's Birth Day

Just a collage of a few of the visitors on Bennett's Birthday...

Joe and Anna came to visit...
They were so sweet to bring dinner over also.

Matthew was so excitied to hold his baby... and not damage him :)

Davis was the first to hold and talk to Bennett...

Ady was sure this was her baby...

Alexis and Seth dropped in for the weekend to help me out
with the 3 kiddo's left at home...Tanner, Ady and Matthew.

This was such a great day... Bennett was here, safe and sound...
All fingers and toes accounted for and Mommy doing well.

Thanksgiving Dinner with the Harringtons

Our Thanksgiving Day started out slow and easy... Not!!! I was fortunate enough to scrub my carpet and wash some blankets before anything else.
Then had to get Mark in the bath, get Tanner in the shower...gather all the food stuff...and take my own shower and get out the door at 10 a.m. Like that is easy for me :) haha At least I didn't have to get the turkey going (Louise had that chore), bake pies (done the night before) or get 3 kids under 4 ready to go... Hurrah!!!

We made it to the Ranches at Eage Mtn by 10:30 ish...and the games had already begun...

The annual Broom Hockey game was already in play with many of the brooms from the $ store already taped and broken... (new idea for next year in the works)... When the brooms were all broken, we got the balloons tied to ankles for "last man standing"...this was brutal. At the last...it was kill or be killed...oh the pain. I didn't play any games this year...Mark made up for it. We then got a game of human FoosBall. Team work is difficult for some, but it was so much fun to watch.
Matthew wouldn't let go of his broom for the whole time... he was one of the last ones standing until Tanner spotted him and then it was kaboom!!!

Mark was goalie helper...yes, he holds a broom very well with a helper :)... After the fun was done, we sat down to a lovely table filled with food, food, food... Ady's favorite was the stuffing (is she a bread girl or what)...Tanner ate the rolls, Matthew ate seconds of everything...as usual. We had enough left overs to share some of everything with all to have a snack for dinner later in the day... that part is wonderful.

Louise gave us a new book, "The Thanksgiving Bowl" by Virginia Kroll, Illustrated by Philomena O'Neill...and a bowl to fill with our blessings and gratitudes. Then we had to guess who said what...we were pretty good at guessing too...
At the end we cleaned up the church, swept and vaccumed and hauled out our trash and goodies. We got home at 1:30 p.m. stuffed and ready for our naps.

I loved the day... Kirk called to wish us a nice day, Seth called to wish us a nice day... it was great to hear from family and visit too.

T h a n k s g i v i n g 2008

Well the holiday burst is upon us...Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!

Black Friday is coming far to quickly...though it's not black for me cuz' I'm not shopping this year.

We are meeting with Louise and John, Kristy and family; along with Holly's family to share our feast on Thursday.

Then on Saturday we will cook our own Turkey and play some games with the grandkids...They will all be here with the exception of Dylan who is going to Snowflake, AZ with Jessica this year.

I look forward to the holiday season; not the shopping, bustling about, pushing and shoving, the lines at the stores; I love the sounds of the season...watching "The Christmas Carol", making candy, the hymns, the decorations of a tree with soft sparkling lights, snow on the ground (not to drive tho :) ), the way we give a bit more of ourselves, a visit with a friend, the smell of cinnamon in the air, the annual cookie bake with the grandchildren, my mother's 'fruit cake', and of course the music, to sing or to just listen to the sounds, etc.

I think I like more of the holidays, than I do not like... I really don't mind standing in line, I just visit with those in front of me and behind me... make conversation to pass the time... It's hard to not like the holidays... Because we are celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I do feel sad for those less fortunate than ourselves... So I dig a bit deeper into my storehouse and share a bit of our bounty with them... the food pantrys are empty this year with the joblessness...prices have risen again... The call for help is everywhere... I think if we all try to do our part, give a bit more offerings...smile more, give a little time, or a can or two of food, just do something to help the cause...then we will have a wonderful holiday spirit within our homes...

Happy Thanksgiving...
Eat and rejoice in the bounty we have been blessed with...
Give thanks to our Heavenly Father...
Be kind to those around us...

I DON'T DO CHOCOLATE...

But... I sure would like to try some of these...
Instead, I will just pass these onto you...
Note the marshmellow recipe... if you make them
call me first, I seem to remember it being different than foil...

These are not worthy of the word "diet" for the holidays...

If you try any, let me know how they were...

Not like I will be trying them...

hehe

Ten Hot Chocolate Recipes

Warm up this winter with a rich, steaming cup of holiday cheer.

Whether you make a luxurious hot chocolate with melted chocolate bars

or create a delectable hot cocoa with fine-quality cocoa powder, these delicious recipes

will put smiles on the faces of everyone coming in from the cold.

Luscious Hot Chocolate
1 cup milk
1 cup half and half
1 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped
8 tsp sugar
½ tsp vanilla
Heat milk, half and half, both chocolates, and sugar in a saucepan on
medium-low heat until chocolates melt and sugar dissolves. Pour half of the mixture into a blender and mix until frothy. Return to the saucepan and add vanilla. Stir briefly and serve.

Aztec Hot Chocolate
2 cups milk
4 squares baker’s chocolate
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp cardamom
½ tsp ginger
¼ tsp ground cloves
¼ tsp nutmeg

Break chocolate squares and melt in a saucepan with the milk. Do not boil.
Whisk until foamy. Pour into mugs. In a separate bowl, combine all spices.
Mix ½ tsp of blended spices in each mug, adding more as desired.

Raspberry Hot Chocolate
2 cups cream
1 cup milk
6 oz. bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
2 T. sugar
½ tsp salt
1 T. butter
1 cup raspberries
whipped cream
In saucepan combine cream, milk, and sugar until hot, but do not boil.
Add chocolate and butter and reduce heat to simmer. Stir until chocolate is melted.

Pour into mugs and garnish with whipped cream and fresh raspberries.

Brown Sugar Hot Cocoa

3 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/3 cup water
4 cups milk
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
1/8 tsp salt

Melt chocolate and water together in a double boiler.
Slowly stir in milk, sugar, and salt. Whisk until well blended.

Old-fashioned Hot Cocoa with Homemade Marshmallows

Old-fashioned Hot Cocoa

3 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ cup sugar
4 cups milk
¼ tsp vanilla
Combine sugar and cocoa powder in small bowl.
Heat milk in saucepan to scalding.
Stir 1/3 cup hot milk into cocoa-sugar mixture, and then pour back into the saucepan.
Stir until blended, then add vanilla and garnish with homemade marshmallows.

Homemade Marshmallows

3 T. powdered gelatin
2 cups cold water
2 cups sugar
2 egg whites
2½ cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
butter

In a medium saucepan soak gelatin in the cold water for approximately 10 minutes.
When gelatin has softened, add the regular sugar and gently dissolve over low heat.
Remove from the heat and cool to room temperature. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and then fold in 2 cups of sifted confectioners’ sugar. Put mixer on low speed and slowly add cooled gelatin mixture. Increase the speed and beat until white and thick, and the mixture is approximately double in size. Line a deep 8x8-inch baking dish with foil, grease slightly with butter, and coat with part of the remaining confectioners’ sugar. Pour marshmallow mixture in and top with more sifted confectioners’ sugar. Let sit for at least 3 hours. The marshmallow should be light and spongy when ready. Loosen marshmallow from edges of tray and invert onto large cutting board. Slowly remove foil and use a large knife to cut the marshmallows into cubes.
Dredge each piece in confectioners’ sugar.

White Peppermint Hot Chocolate

6 hard peppermint candies, finely crushed
2/3 cup whipping cream
3½ cups milk
8 oz. white chocolate, chopped
½ tsp peppermint extract

Beat whipping cream with crushed candies until stiff peaks form.

1 cup milk
2 T. sugar
½ tsp salt
6 oz. bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
2 ripe bananas
1½ tsp cinnamon
marshmallows

In saucepan combine cream, milk, and sugar until hot. Do not boil.
Add chocolate and reduce heat to simmer. Stir until chocolate is melted.
Puree bananas with cinnamon. Heat puree in microwave for 15 seconds and stir into hot chocolate mixture. Pour into mugs and garnish with marshmallows
.

Milk Chocolate and Orange Cocoa
1/3 cup whipping cream, chilled
1 tsp brown sugar
4½ cups milk
zest from 4 large oranges
2 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
9 oz. milk chocolate, finely chopped
Whip cream with brown sugar until stiff peaks form. Refrigerate.
Mix milk with zest from oranges in a saucepan, heating to a simmer. Remove from heat. Cover and let stand for 30 minutes. Strain zest from the mixture and bring liquid to a simmer. Stir in cocoa powder and chocolate, whisking until smooth. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream mixture.

Cold Chocolate Eggnog

4 eggs, separated
½ cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 T. pure vanilla extract
2 cups milk
1/8 tsp salt
1½ cup whipping cream, whipped to soft-peak stage
1/3 cup grated semisweet chocolate

In a large bowl, beat together egg yolks, sugar, cocoa, and vanilla until thick and smooth.
Slowly stir in milk, mixing well. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Remove just before serving. Beat egg whites with salt until soft peaks form. Fold whipped cream into chocolate mixture, then gently fold in egg whites. Serve immediately, garnished with grated chocolate.

Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate
4 squares baker’s chocolate
2 cups milk
2 T. peanut butter
marshmallows
Break chocolate squares and melt in a saucepan with milk.
Do not boil. Stir in peanut butter until mixture is smooth.
Pour into mugs and garnish with marshmallows.

Dress up Your Drink
Here are a few tips for adding some extra pizzazz to your favorite hot chocolate or cocoa recipe.

Richer Flavor
For a richer, more decadent beverage, use whole milk instead of water —
regardless of what the recipe calls for.

If you want an extra-rich drink, add a teaspoon of sweet butter to the bottom of each cup before you pour in the drink.

Garnishes
Marshmallows are great, but why not use whipped cream as a blank canvas to create a truly whimsical drink. Try topping whipped cream with chocolate shavings from your favorite candy bar. Or use colored sprinkles to reflect the occasion — red and green for Christmas, or pink and red for Valentine’s Day, or rainbow sprinkles for birthdays. Or sprinkle chocolate, butterscotch, or peanut butter morsels on top. Also, consider candy stick stirrers such as peppermint, butterscotch, or raspberry, for a hint of extra flavor.

Cup Rimmers
Give a touch of sophistication to your hot chocolate by adding a rim of flavor to your cups.
Try crushing peppermint candies in a food processor, or using colored sugars for a sparkling effect.
You can also create your own custom-flavored chocolate powders. Just place the mixture in a large soup bowl. Moisten the cup rim with a wedge of orange and dip it in the mixture (about 3/8 inches deep) until it is evenly coated. Carefully pour the hot chocolate or cocoa so you don’t drip on the rim.

October and Halloween

Halloween is a scary time at our house...

We had many visitors...here are just a few .

BOO!!!

We saw clowns...

Mark on his way to mutual on Thursday night...
he was so funny...and thought he was scary...
well, maybe just a touch...clowns can be very spooky...

We saw monkeys...

See Matthew's banana!!!

He was so cute and really didn't feel very well...

Elephants...

Adylin was an elephant again this year...

She wanted to be a monkey also, but all the costumes were gone

by the time she changed her mind ...again!!!

power rangers...

Tanner and Poppie went shopping to get a special costume. Tanner worked at our house cleaning the garage and helping Poppie put up our new porch lights... This is what they got...and Tanner had a blue one from last year at home... Oh my!!!

We all had fun this halloween time...
The monkey and elephant went to my work and
pulled in a ton of candy on Oct. 30...
since the state of ut does not work on Fridays...

Then Holly's kiddos came over around 4 p.m. to go around
to a few families in our ward...

This was Adylin's year... she didn't want to stay in
she wanted to go out and say "twick or tweet..."
and get C A N D Y !!!

Matt was all but sick...and wouldn't stop to save my life :)
he was going to get his canny too...

Tanner had a party at school and knew they weren't going out much...With mom 50 years preggo...walking door to door wasn't really an option..

All in all a good time was had by all of us...even poppie (tho his fav is the candy...)

THEN Mark did the funniest thing... he decided to go out along with all the "other" kids in the neighborhood...he took off out the front door in his socks and headed towards the Boom's house. I didn't even know he was gone until the doorbell rang and we had trick-treaters...but no Mark to hand out candy. I headed on down from the computer room to hand out candy and start to look for Mark... He was no where to be found inside or out...I got a bit scared...since his new meds he has been feeling very good...and Mike said he was upstairs with me?? NOT...

Then what to my surprise a short stout man boy comes up the sidewalk with candy tucked into his shirt... waving at me... all happy...and stuff...DAH!!!

I met him and the street light and told him to hand over his goodies... he wanted to hold my hand and I was not going to help him out (to much)... I told him he scared me and he said he was sorry...but only wanted me to help him home...Dah...his poor back and legs were hurting and he was limping...but I made him walk a minute before helping him home. He wanted more candy...Mr. Piggy...I was glad he was feeling good...but this was a bit to much even for me!!!

WORK NO MORE!!!

And Halloween Pix's
FYI:

As of Oct. 30 I will be a stay at home caretaker of Mark and Mike's wife...

No more going to the office...

The Legislature canceled my job... closed down our agency...

As of Nov 1, 2008 no child in Utah will be reviewed by the (required law) citizen panel...Oops!!!

I am saddened by that part...
loving the stay at home part...
but worry about the future of the children in foster care... in the state of Utah...

I will soon be 56...
I am really the baby in the group...
John and Louise are both already there :) hehe...
John in January and Louise in April...
But I can get discounts as a senior citizen...
that has to help with aging points :) lol

This political mess we are in right now is pretty hot...
I am soooooooooo not into politics.
Oh well... I will vote, and do my best...

The garden is ready for winter... I even put it's blanket on... just straw, but a lovely blanket all the same...

The pumpkins have new homes...

The kittens have new homes...

The garage has a new resident... the van... hehe and hoping for another renter... the car...

We have made a few changes in the yard... we have a drain and a V for the water to run off...no more basement flooding for us...

The new porch light got fixed and have half of the new garage lights up and ready to go...

We have taken down the "old" garden fencing.

We have planted a rose bush.

See we did get a few things done this past summer...

I am soooooooooo looking forward to winter and sitting in a warm blanket watching some tv...

UPDATED THE BLOG... SEE SLIDESHOW NOW

Updated my blog...

View the slideshow

and

check out my music...

Wow!!!

Maybe since my job is done the end of October, I will have a bit more time to work on this blog and update it more often with idea's and pictures and the like...

Goodnight
Sweet Dreams
See you tomorrow
Connie

My Cousin...Karren

Karren was a Lindsay, my dad's cousin, in fact.

Then she was adopted by my mom's sister, Neva.

So, she was a blood relative to us, and will be missed by many.

The "C" got her... she is now out of pain and reunited with "Family"...

This picture was taken when Sherm passed away.
She came out to Utah for the funeral.
We hadn't seen her for a few years.
Mark and Karren...

October is here!!!

Ok
It's that time of the year that I enjoy very much.
The colors of the leaves on the trees... the cooler temps...the garden is done for the summer and now I can concentrate on the inside of my mess... ooops, I mean the house...

Here are a few of my pumpkins that I grew for the grandkids.

As the temps have dropped all of the pumpkins are turning orange and I am finding more than I thought I had... The first count was 7... then 9 and now... Oh my heck...

We have had 2 days of rain and mud making moments in the garden. I can't get in there for a few days to get those that were cut and moved to the main area of the garden.

It is soooooooooo much fun... Tanner is ready to get his pumpkin and I will be taking pictures of them getting their pumpkins and taking them home...

HARVEST TIME

Our garden was really fun this summer...

We have 3 boxes 6X2 and 4 tires(from my hyunda)...
Stay with me here for a minute...

The tires became my hills and the boxes were for other things.
Holly asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day and
I said plants for my garden. So we started in May with
cucumbers, zuccini and crook neck squash, pumpkins,
one cherry tomato and an early girl and a beefsteak tomato...

We lost the first cukes and squash we planted... not enough water
in the tires and we also got hail and snow May 31...
I covered the tomatoes and they did well...

Mike and I went and got bush bean seeds and red potato
seeds plus a bell pepper and another pepper plant for salsa.
The garden has been fun...

Ady and Matthew helped dig potatoes... the cute red ones
that are very small. The beans went over very well with all...
we ate bean for 3 months (I only had 3 short rows about
2 1/2 feet long and 2 feet wide. Mike and I put a drip
system in 2 of the boxes, but our weather is to hot and dry
for this...so we will swap the drip out for a strip head
(narrow and long). The tires were first year soil and
ammendments... so they were not so very furtile...
I bought a lovely bale of straw to use as a mulch cover that
worked very well. What straw is left will be tilled into the
soil to compost over the winter along with a few bags of manure.

Tanner and Seth were helpful moving the drip hose from tire to tire.
All in all the garden did well... Wished that I had the money
for my white picket fence...hehe and my arched garden gate
and solar lighting... but wishes are just that...

CHERRY PICKERS OF 2008

The cherry tree is ripe and ready to pick.

Matt decided he was a good climber. He is climbing the fruit ladder. A fruit ladder is different than a regular ladder. It only has one leg on the other side. So it's not the same climbing. He made us nervous... He's only 2 =)

Ady is not the most confident high up anything. I don't want to label her afraid of heights, but she is very close to qualifying for that one... She didn't give up or stop trying...but she wasn't very secure climbing high in the tree.

My sister, Pat and brother in law, Phil Pryde, came in from Sacramento, CA for the 4th of July weekend. He thought she was a very good model for his photo shoot in our backyard... He really got some good pictures too.

Matt wasn't to thrilled having to stop picking
cherries to smile for the stranger behind the camera...

They must have picked a good 10 pounds of sweet ripe cherries...

Did they have surprises in their diapers, Holly?

I am sure, most of the fruit didn't make it in the bowl...

Adylin on the other hand is a "ham"... and would stop just longer enough to say "cheese" then go back to picking.

They loved helping and eating and climbing... Stopping when gramma was done wasn't what they had in mind.
But I took the ladder down and only Tanner could climb the tree.

I was replacing sprinkler heads with Mike in the yard and wasn't dressed for pictures...
I was not built for a hat either...
Oh well...
Enjoy!!!
We did!!! The apricot tree is starting to turn...so in a little while they will be pickin' those too :)
Yummy

Ady got "AIR"...

I have had Holly's kids at my house alot lately...
due to the move, the flu, and a few days in Seattle with Davis.
I have a few fun pix ... I will add them at a later date.

Ady loves to jump on the trampoline.
She works hard to get height...
look at me gramma, I jump high :)

She is really frightened of going high...

but she tries anyway...

and is so excited when she succeeds.

Matthew's main thing right now is the kitty... he called the other night and wanted to talk to the kitty on the pone... phone. Next time he does that I think I'll meow for him hehe :)

He is out searching for the Kitty in her hiding place in the back yard...behind the shed:)

Tanner is getting sooooooo old... He is using a saw. We had a hoe that the handle broke on. And I decided that the hoe was good, so I decided I would cut the handle off to make a short hoe... Well, it turned into a family affair. Everyone took a turn with the saw...yes, it was sharp, but I was right there except when I was snapping pictures...

The weather has been so cold that it's hard to plan outside stuff. We just get out there and do it when we can. Note the hats and coats and the red noses...and runny noses :)

I am off to work on the barn and garage this next few weeks... John and Abi have almost got their stuff arranged and moved around. So now it's my turn to mess up the garage and fill up the garbage :) Anyone want to help...come on over !!!

FYI: Lex and Seth leave June 7th for AZ for 6 weeks...they will have their cell phone and we may keep the text messaging until they return...

Monday, April 21, 2008

My favorite Bug is a Praying Mantis... I grow them in our backyard.

My favorite flavor of ice cream is Pralines and Cream...caramel without the chocolate.

My favorite color to wear is RED... and I look good in red :)

My favorite sport is volleyball, to play... to watch is soccer, to view on t.v. either football or golf... easy to sleep to :)

EASTER 2008 AT GRAMMA'S

Quick Update

Easter at Gramma's

Lexis brought some friends with her...

it was fun... crazy, but fun...
Yes, they were driving me crazy...
or just driving...
They will never use my cars or vans or autos!!!

Then they got dumped out of the egg hunt...not enough eggs for all :)

(if looks could kill, someone would be dead right now by the look on Lexie's face)

Tons of food and candy running around for all to eat and fill the sweet tooth.

Isabelle doing her first egg hunt...

last year she wasn't old enough to play...

she did great, got all the money and

her share of the big treats...

even a toy car or 2 .

Mike, Dawn, Alexis, Seth and Isabelle came.

It was very cold and windy. Not sure we have enough layers on to keep out the cold.

Ady and Brittanya out looking for the hidden eggs !!!

a lot of eggs for her basket. This was fun...

We had a good turn out.

Holly, Davis, Tanner, Ady and Matthew came.
Look up high Matt!!!

Those that came had fun.

Tanner had a great spot to look... found a ton too!!!

Brittanya,

who is starting a new job back in SLC... no more in Utah Co.

Then we have the newly weds... Hannah and Mitch,
can you tell Han was cold... nah... she just wanted to wear that "thing" around her and Rachael and her friend, John... Ady's John !!!

Alfie had a few hours off of work to come and eat dinner with us.

My friend, Kim... came too.

She was a great help counting eggs (we always loose count!!) and running after some of our little piglets... Thanks for coming Kim :)

Audree, who took out her pigtails just before we got ready to hunt for eggs.

Don't you like those cute little lumps on the side?

She had fun and her dad, John got here just after the hunt and just in time for dinner... (John had to work...)

She was very hard to pin down long enough for a pix... I had to have her pose, stop, look and listen...

Mitch helped out with pictures and took a few of his wife...dah...

His team has a group of great boys...the coach seems to really care about the boys.  He allows all to play.100_5485

Lexi, Mark, Poppie and I went to his game on Valentine's Day... We went to dinner and had the best time.

100_5556 After the game was over, we got a snack and dropped the kids off at their home.

We didn't get home until after 10 p.m. ...but we would do it again if given the opportunity.  Hint, Hint,...

Our next jaunt will be to go to Alexis' dance review...coming up soon...I hope.  More pix to come after that... We love to support our grandkids as they try out new things and learn to enjoy doing different sports and adventures.

Cousins at Play in Utah!!

These boys played, and played and played.
They wanted to play video games, but that was a big NO from a momma. They tried to get the Rock Band out... no good. They were very disappointed. How can they get to know one another and play, if they are zoned into a video game... so the momma's banned those kind of games and they had to choose something else... They decided upon these blocks. PERFECT!!!

We got together at Holly's on Saturday to let the cousins play...
Tanner, Taye, and Kai.
Matthew and Adylin were around too, but they were the 'little' ones here...
and the big boys didn't want the babies to play.

They really had a great time.
The boys were so busy playing that they forgot to EAT!!!

They ran around and played until the momma's
and the gramma was sooooooo tired, we needed a nap...

The funny thing about the way they played was,

they talked, but played with their own color on their own space...

we girls were amazed by this.

So non girly :)
