Christmas with the Miera's

We didn't know when we would have the time to get together with Lexi and Seth to give them our gifts...so we took a ride on Sunday and went up to visit them...

Dawn and Lexi were home and we were waiting for Mike to get back from Park City with Belle and Seth...Oh yeah...I forgot Millie too... Rusty was very disappointed when she romped into the house... hehe

We started out watching Belle open her present...

A Dora DVD to watch, over and over and over again...

Then Seth got his turn... I gave him a tip a few weeks ago...I said he could shoot it...it drove him crazy...

A Video Camera with 2 batteries...in a nice carrying case... I might have to share a tripod with him so he can shoot himself skating...the skateboard guru...

Alexis got her turn next... it was a very small envelope...wrapped in cute red paper...with a lovely bow on top...

It was $50 to get her hair done during Christmas break from school...

Dawn opened up an album, with a photo of the 3 kids on the front...with receipes inside...easy food to make, some crockpot, some freezer prep...to help her out with the new job...

Mike was the best... he was very impressed... ok... I'm pushing it here...We got the family some matching dishes...pure white to match what they already have... one can never have to many dishes around the house.

We didn't stay long...just a short time and then we were off... we wanted to miss the storm and get home before dark...I was driving and that is safe for all...to get me off the road at night.

Ok so my Spanish sucks!!!

We met at Susie's house for dinner... Her parents, Robert and Gui flew in Monday from Greeley, CO... for Christmas. We had the best fajitas on the planet...made by Roberto...Yum Yum...

We took Pumpkin Crisp and Root Beer...

Of course I ate to much...and ended up stuffed like a piggy... in piggy heaven :)

Susie and Joel have the cutest condo...up on the east side...on the way to the zoo. A nice 2 bedroom she is painting...fun colors... They had their stockings hung by the chimney with care...oops I didn't get a picture of that... Oh Man!!!

Grandkids and Messes...

I've been over at Holly's alot lately...we are working together to get our goody plates together...and instead we just have made lovely messes...

We have cookie dough to cut out and bake...hum... well, maybe later today...

But on the good side of messes comes the kids.... Ady and Matthew are the queens and kings of messes right now.... You clean up one and they are already on the next one or two...

I said to myself...haven't I already done this with kids... Like my own... years ago...ugh... then one of them comes up to you and needs a hug and kiss... and I melt...again.

I couldn't melt with my kids, someone had to keep it all together and Dad was a marshmellow...so, I got to be the hard core Momma... as a gramma I get to be a bit more of a marshmellow...

Candy and Goodies

Ok

Here it is the 2nd week of December and I still haven't gotten any fudge or caramels made yet.

I finally got some dipping done, but with 5 kids in the house making me crazy... Then they ate them all and I didn't get to put any away for my "Neighbor Plates"...

We got a few inches of snow yesterday, then it melted and frozed and snowed again...So this morn... Mike got the snowblower out and chopped up the snow and ice and moved it off of the driveway... Now it's cleaner, and the ice melt is working.

Guess Holly and I will get together and make the goodies...with her 4 kids and me having little engery...It will take the 2 of us to get a few things done and wrapped...

I will try for a pix to update this post...tomorrow...my new mantra...TOMORROW !!!

Would that be procrastination??? or just building up my momentum???

Hum??? Guess I'd better look and see what Webster has to say about it...

Ok a little update on the candy... I made caramels on Monday, Dec. 15...and whoosh they were all gone before I got any wrapped and into neighbor goody plates... Oh man!!!

Christmas 2008

Mike and Mark got the tree lights put together...the lights work Yay...

We have all the totes in getting warm...ok...that was 3 days ago...they must be warm by now.

I have one nativity set up (I have 2 large totes full)...

And I have run out of energy (again)...

Today I am melting chocolate, white and double chocolate, to drizzle over popcorn. The sweet and salty is wonderful and a little bit goes a long way. I bought pretzels, rods, little sticks and small pretzel shaped, to dip and drizzle... Will post a pix when done... I love to use the green mint chips and just add color to some white to make them look pretty... I usually make goodies to hand out to neighbors and VT sisters...to go along with the cookies that turn out...unlicked.

I have the mixer to make the sugar cookie dough for Gramma's Annual Bake... next Saturday... (am I crazy or what to think I can do this and not lose my mind with the mess).

These are my plans for the next few weeks... plus a VT Sister activity...and a dinner with my daughter and her family...Bennett's mom...LOL

Oh ya...Mark wants to send out a few cards...he got one from his girlfriend, Ernie in Burley and now needs to return the card...it's his thing and he really doesn't ask for much.

Well, I will try to keep things updated...maybe hehe

This was such a great day... Bennett was here, safe and sound...
All fingers and toes accounted for and Mommy doing well.
