We got to play at Holly's starting on Tuesday, April, 24th until April 29th, while Holly and Davis were gone to Orlando, Fl. It was some work and some play for them.
It was mostly work and some play for me...
Haha...
Mike came and helped out on Thursday, but 5 kiddo's no matter how you spell it is work... Ask any mother!!!
The trick is to find some fun no matter how much work is involved... I didn't learn that trick when my kids were young. I didn't do to poorly with my grandkids, but I still am not great at it... sigh... guess it's just hard for me...
Holly did great setting it all up for me tho... She had someone come in and clean the house on Tuesday... Wonderful!!! The laundry was caught up!!! Hurrah!!! The meals were set up and ready to go... Hurrah!!! It was like a calendar... went like clockwork...
Bennett wet his bed every night the little pill... he is going thru a 'faze'... He earned $2 for doing his p... on the potty... but couldn't concentrate on the pee pee part too... stinker!!!
The weather poured rain one night... and the kids left their shoes out that night... the one night I didn't get their shoes in!!! sigh
I didn't panic... they each have more than one pair of shoes, but Bennett couldn't find his match... I got out and dug out his boots and he was in heaven!!! Loves his winter boots...
Warren had so much fun playing in the sandbox full of sand and water!! The bath afterwards was also a lot of fun too...
I didn't get one picture.
I was busy chasing one in one door and one out the other door. Good thing there was only 3 doors... I only lost Bennett once and Warren once!!! I felt pretty good for that...
SIGH... and they were only lost for a few minutes at that... and found in the house or yard... and safe at that too.
All and all... we had nothing broken on the kids or the house... except a picture frame that I will gladly replace... We attended a church carnival dinner that was fun and we ate cotton candy and played games too...
I have to thank Mike for his help... he even cleaned up the kitchen one day while I put the rest of the house together so the parents didn't come home to a place that was totaled... Ya know ... grandma's and grandpa's don't enforce the chores as well as the parents do...
We did do scriptures and prayers and homework...
I would do it again... it was a fun bonding time with the grandkids... they need it and we need it...
We love our
grandkids
you know...
2012 is my 60th year... I find that hard to swallow. It's a good thing John H did it so well first because Louise and I can follow such a great leader. My favs are Grandchildren, my Sweetheart, Flowers, wind in my hair, Vegies, mud in my toes, taking photos, digging in the gardens... last but never least in my heart, my children.

April Showers Bring May Flowers...
Monday was a long day....
After a very nice Easter Sunday... with family...
We had dinner with Louise and John and all... the kids had an Egg Hunt and in some of the eggs was "Bunny Bucks"... used to spend at the Easter Store... They really had a great time hunting for eggs and finding the bucks and shopping at the store. Once again the store owners over bought... hehehe and we had to many items and to much candy, chocolate. Can you believe it???
The food was fantastic... The company was great... The birthday wishes for Louise... cuter than cute.
Today is Thursday...
We have had some rain, to wash away the dirt on our week. The bad stuff in the air, and in our minds... To give us something clean to breathe and think about. Our lawns and flowers got a spring shower... after breaking a high record of 76 degrees by hitting 84.... YUCK!!!
So many of my plant starts have died due to the heat... You get a greenhouse to keep things warm and they die cuz the heat kills them... WOW... hahaha Oh well it's a start and I'm learning... slowly and it's all new to me to...
No smiles... still frowns... but working on it... I did laugh out loud at something and it felt good... but overall still sad inside.
I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know that Alexis is in a wonderful place. She is happy and trying to make things right for her and her family.
We had a great few days with Seth... He is trying hard to put things together also. Earth life isn't easy you know and we all get to work hard at keeping the good

Conference Weekend...
182nd General Conference
This is one of my favorite weekends in during the year. It's one we plan on staying in and watching t.v all day long. Not doing chores all Saturday. I try to plan on easy things like folding laundry, or going through boxes and organizing paperwork. Something that takes little or no thinking. That way I leave my brain open to hear and take in the words being spoken by those assigned to speak to us.
I will make sure I have all the sessions on tevo so we can listen to them more than once over the next few weeks. If I get called away, I won't feel that I get left out or short changed from any messages. I do plan on planting carrots and peas tomorrow during breaks. I even have a pair of jeans set aside just for the 'garden'... the holey ones... that are ok to get dirty.
We did our shopping on Thursday so we would have it done prior to Saturday. We also got the items needed to get our bedroom and office back in shape before Monday. I moved our bedroom around. It was cramping my style and I needed a change. I moved the bed under the window... can't have it there for the winter. But summer it will rock.
I will update any goodies from Conference that 'click'.
Keeping things moving forward.

Gardens??
No sooner do I get the grow box in and the ground ready to go and it's Utah. Cold and overcast... Greenhouse or not, it's cold. I have the squash and cucumbers started and they are cold and slow.
I'm pretty sure that it takes sunshine and warmth to make things grow. I have been watering the starts and checking on them for 5 days and still nothing. SIGH!!!
So... I am hoping and praying that we get a few days of sun to go along with our 50-60 plus degrees of weather, or I will have to bring all the starts in the house where we are 70 and no sunshine.
It is what it is I know, but it would help just to see the seed breaking through the soil line. That way I would feel like I'm doing ok. I want to plant the peas and carrots in the soil, but that is hard to do until I see the starts in the peat pots coming up just a tad.
Patience isn't my strength. Gardens whether they be vegetables or flowers require some patience, and mine are pretty thin at this point in time. Sigh... As I take a deep breath... and roll my shoulders, stretch my legs and arms and give it another day...
Will keep updating when I have more info or a pix or two to show improvements to the garden.
Right now... I get to play the waiting game.

Spring... Spring... Spring...
If I keep repeating this mantra it might make it so. I am just in need of some real sunshine and warmth. Utah is so good at going from winter to summer and back to winter again. Yes, we have spring and fall... but don't have a nap or blink, because you will miss it.
I sound like a broken record... and a little down in the dumps, Spring does that to me some days. I would love to wave my magic wand and have my house cleaned and painted fresh and new linens... Ready for Easter and all new and clean and pretty... oops... I just woke up and there is no magic wand. So I'd better get back to cleaning my bedroom.
John helped me move the bed. Es helped me move a few other things. And I did the rest. Right now the bed is piled high as well as the office next door with 'things'... I haven't even started the "cleaning" part or the dusting part. YIKES!!!
